THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE TENNESSEE

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Speech-Language Pathologist provides direct developmental therapy services through home-based environments and/or virtually to children to fulfill a grant contract with the Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS). This position requires compliance with clinic policies/procedures and state/federal guidelines.


Responsibilities
  1. Provides direct patient care under the guidelines of TEIS.
  2. Implements services with children and families using knowledge of strategies of Family Guided Routines Based Intervention (FGRBI).
  3. Completes routinely scheduled assessments using the Assessment, Evaluation, and Programming System (AEPS).
  4. Manage program data using Tennessee's Early Intervention Data System (TEIDS) related to grant requirements.
  5. Manage patient charts including session documentation, correspondence, records request, letters to other professionals, and maintains files in compliance with licensure regulations.
  6. Establishes and maintains collaboration with other professionals providing services for PLC clients, including attendance at Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) meetings, transition meetings, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
  7. Attends PLC professional meetings; participates in activities to remain current with evidence-based practice needed for programming to maintain grant requirements.
  8. Travels to home and community sites to provide services as indicated on the children's IFSP.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
EDUCATION: Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology or a related field. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Speech Language Pathologist must be licensed to practice in the State of Tennessee. Must have ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence or willing to obtain. Must have a valid Driver's License.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability and skill to provide assessment and treatment services to children with developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of basic communication principles and parameters, skill in implementing clinical practices of developmental therapy and/or speech-language pathology, and attitudes of sensitivity to the needs of clients as members of larger familial, cultural, linguistic, and social systems.
